Combat boredom and keep your minds sharp over the summer months by reading! Once enrolled in the reading program, you can attend any of the exciting free programs at your library!
Registration begins May 22nd.
Register at the library or online.
The Goddard Public Library’s summer reading programs are open to the public. We welcome children and families. By participating in the reading portion of the program, the participant can be entered in a drawing to win a prize at the end of the program!
Storytime: This is an activity pointed towards children up to 1st grade. We will be reading books and having a short activity. These are on Tuesday mornings at 9 A.M.
High School Night: This is an activity for those going into or already in high school only. There will be different activities every night including crafts, games, and movies. These take place on Wednesday nights from 7-9 pm.
Come and Go Crafts: Each week is a new craft that is left out for kids to do, except for when there’s a program happening. Children preschool age will need assistance.
Shoebox Science: Each week is a new science project that can be done at any time except when a program is happening. Children under 2nd grade may need assistance.
Wii weekends: Friday through Sunday you can come in and participate in a weekly Wii competition.
Thursday May 25th.: The Goddard Puppet Ladies present “A Home for Hermit Crab.” Families will be given a time slot and tickets at registration.
Thursday June 1st at 2 p.m.: Brendon Draper’s Drum Safari will be entertaining kids with a variety of drums. This program is interactive. The children will be given an opportunity to play with some drums.
Monday June 12th at 10 a.m.: Mr. Kneel will be bringing his family friendly hip-hop show to the library! The program is designed to be fun for the whole family!
Monday June 26th at 2 p.m.: Didgeridoo from Down Under will be putting on an educational music show all the way from Australia! This program is suited for all ages.
Thursday June 29th at 11 a.m.: Come get to know your librarians! We’ll be serving lunch, so sign up and come have a nice afternoon enjoying food and a movie on us!
Saturday July 8th at 2 p.m.: Our friends from Tanganyika will be bringing out a few of their furry residents for an educational, interactive program.
Thursday July 28th at 10 a.m.: The library will welcome H3TV, an educational rap show out of Kansas City composed of Reggie Regg and Rappin’ Roy. Their message ranges from healthy eating to anti-bullying and is appropriate for the whole family.
Thursday August 3rd at 2 p.m.: Come say goodbye to summer with us at the community center, where Shawn Reida will be putting on a dynamic magic show to wow kids young and old!
